Ira Mogilevsky - jazz pianist, band leader, composer, Mindoors Music
leader was born in Russia in 1975, Israeli resident since 1991. Ira currently lives in Stockholm.
She is a graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music where she studied jazz piano, composition and music for movies and theater with Slava Ganelin. She has
performed her own music at different jazz-clubs and concert halls around Israel and composed music for movies and theaters.
In 2002 Ira moved to Sweden to complete her postgraduate studies at the Stockholm Royal College of Music in electro acoustic music, jazz and film
composition.
In Sweden Ira has collaborated with a number of established and well known on the Scandinavian music scene jazz musicians, such as Fredrik Ljundkvist,
Lars Göran Ulander, Jonas Knutsson, Christian Spering, Nils Ölmedal, David Wilczewski. Among the venues she performed at : Umeå International Jazz Festival,
Kallott Jazz and Blues International Jazz Festival, Kaamos Jazz Festival in Finland and many other venues and jazz clubs.
Today Ira is running her company Mindoors Music. The company is representing and promoting jazz bands and also supplying high
quality background music for events.
At the moment Mindoors Music is concentrating on the management of
following bands:
Gushpanka - modern original jazz
compositions with elements of chamber music and free improvised music.
Nybakat!
is a unique band that plays
famous Swedish folk songs in an original jazz arrangements written by Ira and own compositions with folk music touch.
MogNed
(elactroacoustic duo + guests) - combination of free improvisations and composition influenced by variety of musical styles from minimalism
and micro tonality to expressive modern jazz.
