"Gushpanka" is an old Hebrew word that means "seal", "imprint".
This international Israeli-Swedish-Finnish band is wishing to create its own unique "gushpanka".
The music is full of dynamic contrasts. By gradually changing waves of different atmospheres it takes the listener up and down from expressive and "crazy" rhythmical pieces to melodic and lyrical ballads; from open free improvised places to very structured organized parts; from simplicity to complexity.
All compositions are original, composed by the members of the band.
The own contemporary language of Gushpanka is based on organic mixture of music styles. It has absorbed the phrasing of modal jazz, conceptual approach to the composition of modern classical chamber music, unpredictability of free improvisation and avant-garde.
The band performed at different jazz events in Scandinavia featuring such great guest artists as :
Fredrik Ljungkvist, Nils Olmedal, Mats Aleklind.
The debut CD is released in May2007 on Joakim Milders "Aparts Records".
